Aims and Objectives of NSS:

The objective of NSS is to develop the personality of students through social work. Following are the objectives-

To understand the community where students do social work
To develop an understanding of oneself in relation to the adopted village where they work
To develop a sense of social responsibility and civic sense
To enhance one’s knowledge in finding solutions to the problems of the people
To develop scientific approach
To develop attributes and skills required for group life
To develop the desired skills to actively participate in the activities
To develop democratic approach and leadership skills among students
To develop the capability to face and help in the event of natural disasters or emergencies
To give practical shape to national unity

Cleanliness drive at adopted village and campus
Book donation drive
Lectures by students in Government school in adopted village Mayakhedi on nutrition and hygiene
Voters awareness rally
HIV/ AIDS awareness rally

Blood donation camp

The NSS unit of SICA College provides the students opportunities to serve the society and nation. It makes them understand the issues and problems of society and involve them in problem solving. NSS instills in students a sense of social and civic responsibility. Various activities are organised by NSS unit such as Hariyali Mahotsav, Amrit Kalash Yatra, Human Rights Day Celebration, Vivekananda Jayanti, Constitution Day celebration, lecture by students on nutrition at adopted village and Voters Awareness Rally etc. Activities like speech competition, debate competition and poster competition are also organised to develop the thinking and writing skills of the students. The village Mayakhedi is adopted by SICA College. Several social activities have been conducted there such as book donation drive, mask distribution in the Corona pandemic time, plantation, cleanliness drive, lectures by students and voters awareness rally etc. The objective of all these activities is the development and growth of the personality of the students through community service.
